Inclusions

Our boats are fully equipped with everything you will need, except personal items like clothes and snorkel gear. Here is a general list but please feel free to check with us if you have any special requests or questions.

Bareboat Charter Information

Our vessels are full of water, fuel, gas, tender fuel, linen and other consumables.

We charge an all-inclusive fee to cover these running costs.

The Operational Services Fee is based on the amount of engine hours used whilst on charter.

Upon termination of your charter, we check the engine hours and issue you with an invoice for the operational services.

$26 per average engine hour per hour ($13 per engine per hour)

Even if you are sailing the majority of the time, we say to allow two hours each day to keep the vessel’s systems (hot water, battery charging etc.) operational. Obviously, this is a guide only and will depend on your usage.

We want everyone to feel safe and comfortable whilst on charter with us and so additional services like a sail guide and service calls out to your vessel can be arranged.

These are optional extras and are charged as follows;

Sail Guide Fees:

$150 for half day (as an extension to your briefing)

$300 for a full day (this includes the guide’s transport cost back to Hervey Bay from Fraser Island)

Service Calls Fee:

$250
Excludes provisions and supplies costs.

Retrieval Fee:

You are not permitted to enter or depart from the marina berth. If you would like to come into the harbour during your charter, a retrieval fee of $150 applies. 2 hour turnaround time applies.

Turnaround Sleepover:

If you are chartering for multiple weeks and come back to harbour for a night for a turnaround (change of crew, mini vessel service including linen change) the fee is $800.

No formal qualifications or licences are required to charter one of our vessels. We brief you completely before you set sail and are on hand to help you with all aspects of skippering during your time with us.

However, to ensure you have a safe trip you should have basic navigation, boat handling and sailing experience.

Your boat is fully insured for loss or damage, however we require a security bond of $2500 to be authorised on your credit card prior to the commencement of our charter. This is a requirement of the boat owners insurance. The Security Bond will cover against loss or damage to the vessel but not charter negligence.

The bond will be released upon completion of your charter if no damage is reported by the de-briefer.

If some damage or loss occurs, the costs for the damage up to the Security Bond is deducted, and the balance refunded or returned.

Please note that the security bond is a condition of your charter and is not a type of travel insurance.

In the unlikely event that you need to cancel your booking, your charter fee is non-refundable so it is recommended that you consider Travel Insurance. When looking for Travel Insurance make sure that you a covered for events such as cancellation due to illness, injury, adverse weather, domestic flights, and security bond claims in case you damage the boat.

The vessel’s standard insurance policy will not cover you for claims caused by, or as a result of, charters negligence. Accidents happen so we recommend you get Third Party Public Liability Insurance that covers for claims made against you or your crew for Loss or Damage to Third Party Property, or the Accidental Death, Bodily Injury or Illness of a Third Party.

Deposits:
We require a 20% deposit to confirm your booking. The balance of your charter fee is required 60 days before departure for charters in regular and mid season, or 90 days before charters in peak season.

Cancellations:
In the event you cancel your charter and provide more than 90days notice prior to your charter start date, your deposit will be refunded less a service fee of $250.  If you cancel within 90 days of the charter start date, the charter fee will remain payable and is non-refundable. If we are able to rebook for the same period, only a $250 fee will apply.

COVID-19 Cancellations:
If you need to cancel your charter due to government mandated travel restrictions, such as lockdowns, we will postpone your charter be used anytime within a two year period, subject to availability.

Unfortunately this will not apply if any of the intended crew fall ill with Covid, or are subject to a Government health directive (such as vaccination to enter the state). We do not require vaccination.

What to Bring

... AND WHAT TO LEAVE AT HOME

Think packing for a beachside resort. Togs, sunglasses, beach towel, wide brimmed hat, sandals, beach umbrella, sunscreen, cameras, music, fishing rod, games and even those favourite DVD’s.

It’s a good idea to write yourself a check list to make sure all of your favourite stuff is covered.

What not to bring

It is important to remember that the vessels are powered by inverters and heating appliances draw a lot of power. So leave your hair dryers and straighteners at home. Coffee machines and blenders are also not boat friendly.

Unfortunately your pets are not allowed on board.

  • Have early access to the vessel to familiarise yourself to save time in the briefing
  • Get your provisions and stock up the boat
