The Premier Choice

FOR YOUR FRASER ISLAND YACHT CHARTER EXPERIENCE

Our cruising area encompasses the safe and sheltered waters of the Great Sandy Strait and north into Platypus Bay on the remote western side of Fraser Island. Our home port of Hervey Bay and Fraser Island is a short 3 hour drive north of Brisbane, while the local Fraser Coast Airport offers direct flights from Sydney and Melbourne.

With south-easterly trade winds, Fraser Island provides the ultimate protection for cruising along the western side. The area is very easy to navigate making it perfect for first timers and a stress free sailing holiday. With no moorings and mostly sand bottom, you are spoilt with choice when it comes to finding an anchorage to explore.

Wathumba Creek

Known as the Hill Inlet of the Fraser Coast, Wathumba Creek is a magical, picturesque place with all your favourite activities on offer. Snorkel in the creek with turtles, swim in the crystal clear waters, navigate up the creek in the tender, or walk along the white sandy beaches. It is no wonder this is one of the favourite anchorages.

Triangle Cliffs

The coloured sand hills of Triangle Cliffs make for a perfect spot to watch the sunset across the ocean. The stretches of white beach make for a great spot to enjoy a picnic or game of beach cricket.

Moon Point

Moon Point is the closest anchorage to the harbour and provides protection in a variety of winds. The area is full of adventure with close access to Moon Point creek for fishing and crabbing, or Pelican Bank for swimming and relaxing.

Big Woody Island

Only 3nm from Hervey Bay, Woody Island (Tooliewah), or Big Woody as it is known locally, has a lot to offer hikers, anglers and boaties for a variety of weather conditions. It is well known for its historic characteristics such as the lighthouse that is no longer operational but can still be seen near the middle of the island and also the surrounding small reefs and narrow gutters which are good for diving and fishing.

Kingfisher Bay

Kingfisher Bay resort is a popular anchorage for sunset drinks at the Jetty Hut, beach walks to explore the famous McKenzies Jetty, a meal at the Sand Bar or dip in the day use pool. It is also a safe anchorage for those wanting to do day hikes or stock up on a few items.

Ungowa

Recognisable by the coffee rock cliffs and white sand outlooks, Ungowa, and nearby Deep Creek, is a great area for exploring and fishing. Explore the old jetty and shipwrecks, Ceratodus Wreck just south of the Ungowa Jetty and the SS Palmer in nearby Deep Creek, or try your hand at fishing and crabbing in the creek.
